Your patience has paid off!  SiteX 0.7.3 has been released, and I must say, I think this is the most stable, bug-free core we have ever released.  I cannot take full credit for this release myself.  In the past month, Phil Mills (pmills) has joined in the development side of things to really take this release to the next level.  Phil and I implemented a lot of new style changes around the core that will help you all customize SiteX even more than before.  Phil also created three (3) new themes which are visually stunning.  They offer you all more options in your own site’s appearance.

This release of SiteX added nearly 50% more lines of code to the core alone!  The upgrade process from 0.7.2 to 0.7.3 changes almost as many things as every upgrade since the very first 0.6.1 upgrade was released.  Needless to say, this is a huge version change.  Be very careful!  Do not attempt to upgrade your site until you’ve backed up all data and your database.  Due to our release/feature schedule, we did not increment this version to 0.8 as it quite arguably could be.  We are scheduled to release a version or two before we roll to 0.8.x cores.

Our membership continues to grow, and we encourage all of you to check out the forums and post a suggestion or two.  Bugs reports are always welcome; please submit them!  Just because a bug appears very obvious does not mean you’re doing something wrong.  Report it, and we’ll decide whether or not it’s a bug.  We won’t be upset if it ends up not being one.

One more item, Phil has been promoted to maintain much of the SiteX site.  He will be adding more content to pretty much every section of the site including the screenshots and support.  We are trying very hard to build up our support/user guide.  If you have any comments or would like to help, let us know in the forums.  Enjoy the new SiteX!

If you're a regular visitor to this site, you'll notice some big changes!  Yes, the brand new SiteX 0.7.3 with all its fabulous new features has been installed. The theme you see is a modified version of the new Joombo theme, and we like it a lot! SiteX 0.7.3 beta is hoped to be released later today once the last few tweaks have been made. Hopefully this site is whetting your apetite!

Today we released the first set of languages for the localized 0.7 cores.  Included in this release are Estonian, Italiano, and Slovak.  Thank you to all who contributed these files.  Localization takes patience and a lot of time.  I am also grateful to everyone who is in the process of localizing SiteX.  Expect more languages within the coming months.

SiteX will be launching a new core 0.7.3 which includes many new exciting features soon.  Check out the forums for details and feel free to contribute comments.

I am proud to present the sparkling new 0.7 Beta core.  We've gone through and hit many of the annoyances of the 0.6 core including minimal support for Mozilla and poor localization capability.  We've also made sure to patch past security concerns.  Our new core includes a feature-rich WYSIWYG with spell checking capabilites as well as a move toward total validation of XHTML 1.0 transitional.  Your journal/blog entries can now be distributed via RSS 2.0 feeds.

SiteX 0.7 is the first core to support complete localization.  The language file is located in /lang/.  We are currently seeking localizers for any language we can get your help with.  We currently have SiteX being translated into over 10 different languages.  Please post a message in the forums if you would like to participate.

Thank you for your patience while waiting for the 0.7 core.  We've been steadily revising the code line-by-line for over 4 months now and are pretty happy with the way things have turned out.  I want to personally thank all of the beta testers who maintain high standards for SiteX.  This would not get done as well without them.  Also thank you to all of the users who have posted suggestions in the forums.  Please continue to post your suggestions as we read them and consider each and every one.  Also, consider posting a link to your site in the SiteX user sites forum.

As far as future development is concerned, we are continuing to push forward for the next release of SiteX which will include many of the upgrades that we did not have time to finish before this release.  At a certain point you must simply quit trying to squeeze in all of the features so that a release can actually happen.  Look for more features and languages in the coming months.  Enjoy SiteX 0.7 Beta!

I'm pleased to announce the release of SiteX 0.6.4 Beta.  This update includes some critical fixes for several problems we've had since the introduction of the 0.6 Beta including the setup stuck bug and special characters use.  This update is considered critical due to these fixes, but it includes no additional features.

I am working on new features for 0.6.5 including the expansion of user capabilities that you have all been requesting.  If you have any special requests, be sure to post them in the Suggestion Forum.

If you haven't already done so, please give us a link to your SiteX powered site in the forums.  Thanks!
